Overview

Bandar Bukit Raja, located in Klang, was formerly a palm oil plantation and estate owned by Sime Darby Plantations. It consisted of accommodations, a convenience store and a Tamil primary school for use by the laborers and managerial staff working at the plantation. In addition, it had a badminton court and a football field for recreational purposes. While that information is more commonly known, what is unknown is that Bandar Bukit Raja also housed industrial plants owned by Unilever way back in 1982. The investment by Unilever contributed vastly towards the growth of Malaysia’s economy. But the entire plantation has been completely renovated and is no longer in existence.

Property Development

Today, it is a residential estate inaugurated on August 2002 by Sime Darby Property Berhad in collaboration with Project Perumahan Rakyat 1 Malaysia. This partnership between the government and Sime Darby resulted in Sime Darby Property Affordable Homes being established in Bukit Raja and is the first of its kind in Selangor. Phase 1 of this three part project involves the establishment of 321 units of double-storey terrace houses which has already been accomplished. An estimated total of 2,090 units is proposed to be completed by 2016. These properties are 3-bedroom houses ranging between 1310 – 1380 square feet and are priced below market value to make it affordable to a larger spectrum of people. The town offers schools, a medical centre, a fire station, a police station and a commercial centre set amidst a wide range of residential properties that you can select from spread over 5,300 acres of freehold land. Places of religious worship include the Hindu temple, Sri Maha Mariamman and the Buddhist temple, Hatyai Junthip Klang 118 Thai Amulet.

Amenities and Facilities

Sime Darby Property Affordable Homes aims to promote healthy and self-supportable communities. In line with this vision, it will include natural vegetation, reflexology paths, and basketball and futsal courts. Bukit Raja Lakeside is the perfect location to unwind with your family, have a picnic or exercise as a family among the beautiful greenery. Other amenities within close range include Jaya Jusco, Giant, Setia City Mall and Klang Sentral Transportation Hub.

Accessibility and Transportation

Bandar Bukit Raja can easily be accessed through many major highways including the North Klang Valley Expressway via Setia Alam, Jalan Meru and Bukit Raja Toll Plaza, Federal Highway via the North Klang Straits Bypass Highway (formerly named as Shapadu Highway) and the New North Klang Straits Bypass. Bandar Bukit Raja is hyped to be the major residential area in this region.
